Viren Chhabra Print Leadership Award was announced at the 236th GC meeting of AIFMP held on 24-25 June 2017 at Ananta Hotel & Resorts, Udaipur. The award has been instituted to pay a tribute to AIFMP member Shri Viren Chhabra commemorating his rich legacy, lifetime of support and accomplishments for AIFMP.
Prof Kamal Chopra, President, AIFMP comments, “Shri Viren Chhabra has contributed immensely to the printing industry. His contributions to AIFMP are exemplary. He is in real term a path maker for the AIFMP.”
The award is given to a veteran who has contributed to the development and growth of the printing industry and welfare of printing fraternity. The person is selected for his exceptional achievement during his printing work span and other traits like expertise in the printing field.
The award comprises Rs. 1 lakh cash award along with other memorabilia like citation, shawl and memento etc.
The Chhabra family has contributed an amount of Rs. 7 lakh and expressed gratitude for the award’s institution by AIFMP. Earlier, Mr. Vijay Kumar Chopra, Offset Printers Association Ludhiana, Kerala Master Printers Association, Technova Imaging Systems, Mr. Arvind Mardikar, Karnataka Offset Printers Association, Sivakasi Master Printers Association and the Graphic Imaging and Processing Association of Delhi too made contributions to the award. The contributions have resulted in an amount of about Rs. 18 lakh for the award so far, informed AIFMP.
Mr Ashvin B Chhabra, son of Shri Viren Chhabra expressed his gratitude towards AIFMP for the pioneering efforts in establishing an award in honour of his father. Mrs Rami Chhabra said, “I would like to thank AIFMP and especially Prof Kamal Chopra for his remarkable initiative and leadership in launching the Viren Chhabra Print Leadership Award.”
