At the third Gallus Innovation Days that take place from 26th to 28th June at the Gallus headquarters in St. Gallen, Switzerland, Gallus broadens product range for growing digital label market.
For the third time in a row, Gallus is hosting the Gallus Innovation Days this year from 26th to 28th June. Up to 1000 visitors are expected to come to the Gallus headquarters in St. Gallen. With this amount of guests to attend the event, the Openhouse of the Swiss company has already become an established event in the industry.
During the Gallus Innovation Days 2018, that take place from 26th to 28th June 2018, Gallus and Heidelberg experts are showing how digitization will change the label business and how Gallus Ferd. Rüesch AG and Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG are going to jointly support their customers in mastering this paradigm shift. In order to do so, Gallus presents a variety of new products, following this year’s motto “Solutions for Printing Champions”.
Getting started in digital printing made easy
A new digital label printing system called Gallus Smartfire is going to debut this year, and it is especially convincing thanks to its easy handling. This label press is designed for constantly changing short runs and furthermore represents an affordable solution for any label printer who is interested in going into digital label printing.
Innovations in digital and conventional label printing
During hourly live demonstrations held in the new Print Media Centre Label, Gallus novelties in digital and conventional label printing are going to be presented. On the one hand, the Gallus Labelfire is going to be highlighted. Upstream, the press is newly equipped with a fully integrated screen printing unit. The herewith applied screen white in its full opacity can be used for transparent substrates and guarantees the quality standard for this digital label printing system. On the other hand, the conventional Gallus label presses are presented with additional features: for the first time, the new Gallus Labelmaster Advanced can be seen with an automatic transverse and longitudinal register control. The Gallus RCS 430 is equipped with flying imprint and extremely fast UV ink drying thanks to a UV booster, and the Gallus ECS 340 is featured with web shifting for the manufacture of multilayer labels. On top of that, the Gallus screen printing department will be presenting the whole production process of a Screeny A-Line printing plate, from screen exposure with the new Phoenix UV-LED exposing system by Heidelberg, to the development of a new automated washing and drying system by Gallus Screeny to the final assembly of the ready-to-print screen printing plate.
Heidelberg will even be presenting several topics at the Gallus Innovation Days: Three-dimensional objects are going to be printed on and personalised on the Omnifire 250. Furthermore, Heidelberg covers inmold printing with the rotative die-cutter Speedmaster XL 160-DD, which is up to three times faster in terms of production and makeready time as well as more economic in tool costs than a similar flatbed die-cutter. CERM introduces new mobile solutions with its business management software.

More than 30 partnering companies are going to present their products and services for the label business in hall 1, which exceeds all records of former Gallus Innovation Days.
